Jelly Bean Update for Noir phones Coming Soon

Last year Qmobile launched a revolutionary phone for Pakistan's mobile market which is luring masses to buy it. Qmobile's Noir A8 is a beast phone with specs similar to some really expensive android phones by companies like Samsung, HTC etc. This has been proved by benchmarking results in which Noir A8 outperformed several phones like Samsung's galaxy S2 & Galaxy Nexus which were the flagship phone by Samsung back in 2010.

Considering its specs most of the geeks are considering several different ways like rooting, updating its kernel and installing modded android OS to take full advantage of this bad boy. But the major upgrade in terms of performance will be achieved by installing the Google's latest and greatest android OS "Jelly bean" on this phone. Although Qmobile has printed "Upgradable" on the box of Noir A8 but it's been almost 5 months that the update hasn't been released yet. A developer has uploaded a Custom Jelly Bean update for this phone but there are still some glitches in it thus most of the people are ignoring it.



This phone comes pre-installed with Ice Cream sandwich. Although ICS is a great OS but there are some areas in which it needs improvement For Example, ICS is not completely hardware accelerated thus we can see lag while operating the phone. Phones with ICS feel sluggish as compared to the ones with Jelly Bean.

Owners of this phone have been waiting for an update since the day it was launched ,However the wait is finally over because according to a rumor it is expected that the update for this phone will hit the internet as early as this March. This is a very cheering news for Noir A8 owners as the wait is almost over now!

Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope for this update to come soon.

      wingoku , i have updated qmobile with its update but still skype is not working, calling issue , , my voice is not going to the other end , i tried other custom roms with 4.1.1 with same problem :(

    i heard from someone they removed 'Upgradeable' from new batch boxes dont know if its right, though i really wish you are right, cant wait for it then :D

      Anyhow once you have installed custom rom, let me know how it all went out.

      I will advice installing Jelly bean custom rom uploaded on xda-developers forum.

      @jahanzaib Bro there is no point in installing an ICS custom rom which uses a 3rd party launcher, galary and music app. You can save yourself the trouble of installing that custom rom by install Apex or Nova launcher on your Stock ICS. Better install a JB custom rom rather than installing same rom with 3rd party apps!
